Awake, you unsuspecting world

Sudden wonder stretching wide

In infant fists your courage find

And finding, paint in brave and

Scarlet words

On stone and wood

On earth and sand

In sky

How Life born small in mother’s arms

Milk-hungry Son of Father’s pride

Was Bread and Word and Light

I do not write poetry very often, but occasionally an idea sticks with me until no other medium will do. I hope this blesses you and is a reminder of what we truly celebrate in this Christmas season.
